Reinvention: Αn Underground Journey

This is a process that somebody discovers later on.

Perhaps they are on a long journey, questioning themselves, wrestling with life’s challenges, wondering how they’ll face their triggers and act differently.

Therapy is about rewiring the mind, and this process takes time—and not too much of our beloved brain. Because our wiring is fixed, in some way, until we truly take ownership. As a quote says, “You cannot solve the problem with the same mind that created it.” Healing and moving forward is a journey, one that is far from the mind, but in the mind and through it. If you get me, it happens underground. It’s invisible, sneaking in, making the brain “change its mind.”

Often, you do the healing work, but it doesn’t show. You might feel frustrated because you don’t see the change your old mind expects to witness. Yet, reinventing yourself happens quietly, peacefully—like water changing currents. It’s the time you question yourself the most, take a deep breath, and say, “not again.” This is when you realize that reinventing is there, happening every day, in every moment of your life.

Next time you struggle, step out of your mind and go underneath. There is a whole new version of you forming there. It doesn’t need to be big; that’s just how the brain measures things.

In the end, reinventing yourself is simple, simple as one word and one decision.

The brain is the resistant one; needs time to process it and accept it, which is why it gives us a hard time and a lot of puzzled thoughts!

Have you had a moment where everything clicked, and you saw your own reinvention taking shape?
