Quote of the Night

The most valuable thing we can do for the psyche, occasionally, is to let it rest, wander, live in the changing light of a room, not try to be or do anything whatever.

May Sarton

*May Sarton (1912–1995) was a Belgian-American poet, novelist, and memoirist known for her introspective writing on solitude, creativity, love, and personal growth. Her journals and memoirs, such as Journal of a Solitude and The House by the Sea, are particularly beloved for their reflections on aging, nature, and the emotional life of an artist. Sarton was also an advocate for LGBTQ+ visibility, openly writing about her relationships with women at a time when it was not widely accepted.
